Pronounced Tinnit. She was worshiped promatily by the ancient Carthaginians and Phoenicians. The consort of Baal Hammon, She was the patron Goddess of Carthage. Her sacred body is the moon. She is associated with the Goddess Astarte, and shares Her attirbutes of fertility and maternity.
Her symbol is a horizontal crecent moon balanced above the blunted point of a cone and topped by a circle.
She is also known by the following names:
Tanith, Caelestis, Juno Caelestis and Tlanit Pene Baal.
